See if you can finish Meredith’s story…

Buzz, buzz! “Finally,” I thought to myself, “That was the longest school day ever!” I threw my backpack over my shoulder and put on my headphones. As I made my way down

Pipole Street to the bus stop I thought about going on a great adventure. My life was pretty plain and I longed for something exciting to happen to me. I was so busy daydreaming I guess I wasn’t paying much attention to anything really. As the bus doors creaked open I vaguely heard the driver yell out.                                                                                                                                                                                            “Okay, last stop. Everybody off!” he said. I ripped off my headphones. I’m not usually the last stop, but maybe he’s a new driver. I scooped up my stuff and hopped down the stairs. When I looked up I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, I was in some sort of abandoned town. I turned to get back on the bus, but it was already speeding into the distance leaving only a cloud of dust behind. I know I said I wanted excitement, but I’m not sure if this is what I meant…?

Feel free to finish this story in the comments! I’m excited to see how you want it to end!

Elijah’s Fall Poem

Fall My Favorite Time of Year

As the leaves fall from the trees in shades of red, orange, and yellow

We hang out inside snooze under the covers

And as spring comes to an end we smell the fresh fall air

I enjoy carving and painting pumpkins

Halloween is a delightful holiday

With costumes and candy galore

I like to bake during this wonderful time of the year

With cinnamon, nutmeg, apples and pumpkins

With winter approaching there is little time to enjoy this time of the year

But it’s so peaceful this time of the year and I love it.

Michaela’s Beach Poem

The Beach

The sand gets between your toes and melts away your stress

Faint sounds of children and seagulls make your eyes heavy

The hissing sound of the crashing waves floats into your ears

You’re getting hot so you take a dunk in the cool, refreshing water

When you come out you wrap yourself in a towel and take a seat

You take a bite of a turkey sandwich that your mom made

It’s sandy but you don’t mind

Finally, your mom orders you to carry beach supplies back to your car

When you get home you get in a shower and wash the sand off

Days at the beach are always the best

A Basketball Poem by Jake

Basketball

Jump ball the referee takes the ball

2 bounces then he throws it up

The ball is hit back to me

I start dribbling down

I let my team get set up

“Iso! Iso!”

I want the ball just me and my defender

I drive then stop

Between the legs and behind the back

I dribble to the opposite block

I see them going to double me

Spin move

“Ankles” Everyone shouts as he falls down

I hear the crowd “Shoot it!”

I take one more dribble and fade away

I jump so high like I’m imitating Kawhi

Swish “And one!”
